Historic Lincoln Theatre under new management

Gray announced the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities will begin oversight of the historic Lincoln Theatre on January 1, 2012.  The Lincoln Theatre is located at 1215 U Street, NW, steps outside of Meridian Hill Neighborhood Association's boundaries.  The first programming venture is the Columbia Pictures film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, in partnership with Landmark Theatres. Screenings of the film will begin Wednesday, December 21, 2011, and will run for four weeks.  Show times will be 1pm, 4pm and 7:30pm daily -- including December 25.  Purchase tickets.

Rendering of future construction project (center) provided by Jair Lynch DevelopmentOn Tuesday, December 13, 2011, representatives of Jair Lynch Development held a meeting, to which they invited some of the neighboring residents, and discussed the company's plans to construct a 9-story apartment building on the southeast corner of 15th & V Streets NW.  Meridian Hill Neighborhood Association does not endorse the project, but, at Jair Lynch Development's request and as a service to the community, is providing a copy of Jair Lynch Development's powerpoint slides from the meeting.
