On March 30, 2013, MHNA sent Advisory Neighborhood Commission 1B a letter of support for Community Three Development's request for three forms of zoning relief at 2200 - 2202 14th Street, NW, on the northwest corner of 14th and W Streets, NW, in anticipation of the proposed construction of a six-story building with residential units on the top five floors and community-serving retail on the first floor. The site is in the Greater U Street Historic District and includes one historically contributing structure, which will be incorporated into the new construction.
Community Three Development, which presented at the MHNA monthly meeting on March 19, 2013, seeks exemptions from requirements covering: (1) the lot coverage; (2) rear setback; and (3) off-street parking.
