Next Meeting: Tuesday, February 19, 2013, 7-8:30pm

The next Meridian Hill Neighborhood Association (MHNA) meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, in the Greater Washington Sports Alliance conference room, 2300 14th Street, NW, from 7 until 8:30pm.  

Representatives of JBG Companies will discuss the apartment building they plan to construct on the southwest corner of 13th & U Streets, NW, across the street from the Eillington apartment building. JBG seeks to to be exempted from the city's zoning requirements so that it may construct an 8-story apartment building on a site zoned ARTS/C-2-A, for construction no higher than 50 feet. According to JBG, it is scheduled to appear before the Zoning Commission in the first week of March [calendar].

 

We also will take a vote on whether to participate in this year's Capital Pride Parade, scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 8, 2013. Banner carriers needed.

The next Meridian Hill Neighborhood Association (MHNA) meeting will take place on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, in the Greater Washington Sports Alliance conference room, 2300 14th Street, NW, from 7 until 8:30pm.  

Roger Kemp, an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Columbia, will discuss the DC courts' use of community impact statements in sentencing of offenders. These statements can provide residents a significant opportunity to affect crime and safety in their neighborhoods, especially with regard to repeat offenders.  

Eric Smucker will discuss Smucker Farms' application for a special Alcoholic Beverage Control Class B license that would allow the store to sell beer and wine until midnight. Agenda updated Jan. 14, 2012:

Reminder: Holiday reception, Tuesday, December 18, 2012

In lieu of its monthly meeting, Meridian Hill Neighborhood Association will host a holiday reception and elect its officers for the year 2013, on Tuesday, December 18, 2012.

The reception will take place at 2002 15th Street, NW, around the corner from the Mediterranean Spot (formerly Love Cafe), from 7 until 9pm.
