Spring Cleanup & Curry Session, April 25, 2010

Mike loading up mulchOn Sunday, April 25, 2010, twenty-plus volunteers braved forecasts for rain and gloom and descended upon the streets, sidewalks and alleyways of the Meridian Hill neighborhood, picked up trash and debris, spread mulch, repaired treeboxes, collected abandoned DDOT signs, and took note of things that needed fixing in the neighborhood.  Special thanks are in order to: Environment Committee chairman and Cleanup Day organizer Mike Taylor; Justin Vitarello of Fojol Bros. of Merlindia, who graciously fed participants free, delicious Indian food; ANC Commissioner Brianne Nadeau, for arranging for a dumpster from Greater Washington Sports Alliance; Ready Personnel for allowing us to keep mulch on their parking lot; and Tom Day for arranging tool dropoff from the city. More photos are the jump.
